About the Department

The Compliance function is a strategic partner and a trusted business enabler to the Board and senior management. It is our responsibility to ensure that the Group continuously fulfils its regulatory obligations in today’s tight and dynamic regulatory landscape. To do that, we work closely with internal stakeholders to identify and to assess regulatory risks. This collaboration also includes developing practical solutions that integrate regulations into operational requirements as well as actively shaping and promoting stronger compliance culture and literacy in the Bank.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for building UOBHK Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) analytical capabilities including data infrastructure, model development and on-going enhancement support
  • Work closely with Head office to ensure seamless deployment of AFC analytics models and solution in UOBHK adapting to local circumstances
  • Support data model development and validation, UAT and other relevant measures to ensure effective implementation of data analytics solutions
  • Implement processes/systems to monitor data quality and drive optimization
  • Provide on-going enhancement and maintenance support for continuous improvement of data reliability and model effectiveness

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Computing Science/Engineering, Data Science or other relevant disciplines
  • At least 5 years of experience working in relevant fields with at least 3 years of experience in a data engineering and/or data operations role, ideally in the financial services industry
  • Proficiency in Python/Spark to code complex data engineering use cases
  • Experience in data engineering tools such as Hive/Impala, Oozie, Hadoop, etc.
  • Familiarity with schema design and dimensional data modeling, robotic process automation (RPA) and their use in disseminating analytics outcomes, with experience in deploying and scaling ML/AI models
  • Excellent in root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage/plan projects with competing deadlines.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex data-driven insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
