About the Department

The Global Market function leverages our in-depth knowledge of markets to provide timely financial advice, products and solutions to our clients. Together with our segment managers, we manage our clients’ investment, liability and risk management needs through a comprehensive suite of treasury products and services across multiple asset classes.

Job Responsibilities

This role reports to the Collateral Management Service department head within the Global Markets Operations Centre. The role is responsible for assisting the department head to manage the bilateral margin call processes in accordance to CSA/GMRA/GMSLA and IMCSA agreements. The role will require the candidate to have subject-matter knowledge of the MAS guideline on margin requirements for non- centrally cleared OTC derivative contracts and understanding of similar uncleared margin rules in other jurisdictions. The candidate will be expected to collaborate with business, technology and various processing team stakeholders and contribute to strategic initiatives.

  1. Processing, reconciling, investigating and monitoring margin calls under VMCSA, CSA, GMRA, GMSLA and IMCSA: 
    • Performing Data Quality analysis prior to issuing margin calls
    • Daily margin call issuance and responding to incoming margin call
    • Booking of eligible Credit Support (Free of Payment cash/bonds/Tri-party or repricing)
    • Dispute resolution through portfolio reconciliation
    • Perform and respond to control reporting to ensure effective break/fails and exception management
  2. Vetting of legal agreements (VMCSA, CSA, GMRA, GMSLA, CTA and IMCSA) from a collateral management operation perspective
  3. Provides subject matter support to business unit’s strategic initiatives.
  4. Work closely with Technology, Operations group and business units to manage enhancements and new product implementations
  5. Provide ongoing assessment and awareness of the regulatory environment and the bank’s adherence to the regulations
  6. Collaborating with oversea branches and subsidiaries, providing oversight on collateral management.
  7. Check and process interest settlements
  8. Compiling statistical and management reports
  9. Month end reconciliations
  10. Ensure static data is updated in APEX CCS
  11. Carry out any other duties assigned from time to time

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Economic/Finance/Management or experience in the banking industry
  • Minimal 7 years’ experience within Global Market Operations
  • Preferably a sound knowledge in all treasury products including both over-the-counter derivatives, and documentations like ISDA, CSA, VMCSA, GMRA, GMSLA and IMCSA etc.
  • Previous experience in Collateral Management, derivative Middle-Office and trade reconciliation are a plus
  • Strong communication skills and team player, required for an effective liaison across multiple internal stakeholders
  • Risk awareness and attention to detail
  • Time management and ability to prioritize effectively based on the risk / time criticality of the tasks required
  • Innovative mindset and able to improve processes to minimize risk and increase efficiency
  • Fluency in English
  • Strong Excel / Access skills
  • Familiarity with industry utilities (TriResolve and Acadiasoft Marginmanager)
