About the Department

The Technology and Operations function is comprised of five teams of specialists with distinct capabilities: business partnership, technology, operations, risk governance and planning support and services. We work closely together to harness the power of technology to support our physical and digital banking services and operations. This includes developing, centralising and standardising technology systems as well as banking operations in Singapore and overseas branches.

Job Responsibilities

The Application Development Lead is responsible and accountable for managing system development, implementation and support of open-system applications under Cards Technology department. He/She is to work closely with Technical Delivery Manager, development team, vendors as well as other relevant teams to maintain the applications.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and clarify functional, non-functional and operations requirements
  • Analyze and translate requirements to detailed functional / technical specification
  • Create technical design. Understand and document dependencies with the applications that support / provide the functionality
  • Ensure deliverables are adhering to architectural roadmap, development methodology / practices and security guidelines / requirements
  • Collaborate with respective teams (e.g. development and infrastructure) to realize the design and deliverables
  • Collaborate with Production Support team to establish IT operation procedures and document such procedures
  • Coordinate execution together with the relevant teams on threat modelling process with assistance of Security Personnel to ensure implementation safeguards is comprehensive in accordance to threats
  • Assist in translating change requirements into test scenarios and review test strategy
  • Clarify test findings escalated by Test team and classify the findings accordingly (as defect or change request)
  • Produce and maintain relevant documentations not limited to workflow charts and diagrams and specifications
  • Perform detailed impact assessment and effort estimation for change requests
  • Collaborate and support initiatives from different IT teams across infrastructure, security and other functional technology teams to deliver solutions and/or up-keep applications

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or equivalent
  • Relevant experience and knowledge on tokenization, 3-Domain Secure, merchant acquiring, commercial card and/or Internet Banking domains
  • At least 5 years of application support experience with relevant team management experience
  • Hands-on experience in following:
    • Java platform, J2EE and Java web container such as WebLogic, JBoss EAP, Tomcat
    • Oracle database with good SQL skills
    • IBM MQ
    • Web services
    • Web servers such as Apache HTTP Server
    • Unix/Linux with shell programming experience
    • Continuous Integration / Continuous Development/Delivery (CI/CD)
  • Possess strong quantitative, analytical, problem solving and process design skills to translate requirements into design and final to solutions
  • Having open mindset and always keen to learn beyond domains under charge so as to build up more holistic knowledge
  • Good communication (written and verbal) and inter-personal skills to manage different stakeholders across multiple business units
  • Able to work independently and have a keen eye on details
  • Resourceful team player, who can work on multiple assignments, with minimal guidance
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Results-oriented person with a focus on delivery
  • Good understanding and experience in of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), knowledge in Agile development methodology is a plus.
