About the Department

The Technology and Operations function is comprised of five teams of specialists with distinct capabilities: business partnership, technology, operations, risk governance and planning support and services. We work closely together to harness the power of technology to support our physical and digital banking services and operations. This includes developing, centralising and standardising technology systems as well as banking operations in Singapore and overseas branches.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage technical delivery planning, tracking, deploying, testing, implementing and maintaining Java based applications.
  • Participate in agile team activities, including feature design, planning, estimation, daily standups.
  • Work with and communicate effectively with other teams and vendors on projects and application maintenance.
  • Participate in application technical design, development and review. Ensure that the application designed and built conforms to the requirements, principles and models that support the solution architecture overall roadmap, as well as complying to policies, standards and procedures.
  • Analyze the impacts on current system, research problems, design and implement optimal solutions. Maintain an awareness of the latest technological trends and developments in order to introduce new processes and products to enhance the application. 
  • Participate in testing activities and assist to investigate/ troubleshoot issues.
  • Develop and maintain documentations that will include but not limited to SOPs and system architecture guides and diagrams adhering to organization templates, policies, and standards.
  • Follow the Change Management and Engineering Review processes. Ensure changes are completed according to the project and/or release schedule.
  • Streamline deployment processes and assist to formulate implementation and deployment plan.
  • Work with development team to deploy changes to test environments and Production.
     

Job Requirements

Must-Haves:

  • A Bachelor in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or any related field with strong education in IT-related technologies.
  • Good experience in:
    • requirements management and end to end requirements analysis.
    • object-oriented design techniques, UML and object modeling
  • Considerable experience in:
    • business process modeling and techno-functional design.
    • Java based application and technologies.
    • designing and implementing integration with Java, MQ, Microservices and batch processes.
    • application setup and deployment on Java application servers
    • release management.
  • Experience with Scrum or similar agile development.
  • Experience with DevOps and CI/CD processes and tools
  • Experience with a variety of source control and development tools 
  • Experience with both Windows and *nix based server environments and their permissions models
  • Experience with SQL databases MS SQL and Oracle
  • Excellent analytical skills (critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills) with a history of driving the development of large software components.
  • A passion for learning and the willingness to solve problems.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Good-to-have:

  • cross platform debugging
  • banking application technical delivery and support  
  • setting up and running DevOps: continuous Integration, continuous build
  • security testing and performance testing
  • Application Servers such as IBM WebSphere Application Server, JBoss EAP, Oracle WebLogic
