About the Department

The Global Market function leverages our in-depth knowledge of markets to provide timely financial advice, products and solutions to our clients. Together with our segment managers, we manage our clients’ investment, liability and risk management needs through a comprehensive suite of treasury products and services across multiple asset classes.

Job Responsibilities

AVP/ MGR, Legal Documentation Specialist, Global Markets

Job Scope:

  • Drafting, negotiating on, reviewing and finalising various trading master agreements e.g. ISDA Master Agreements, Credit Support Annexes, Global Master Repurchase Agreements, Global Master Securities Lending Agreements and any and all other securities, collateral, foreign exchange trading agreements in respect of all banking and financial products related to or in connection with Global Market’s businesses and operations (“Agreements”);
  • Drafting, negotiating on, reviewing and finalising any and all amendments to, and novations in respect of, the Agreements, as well as any and all other ancillary and incidental agreements or documents thereto;
  • Coordinating and facilitating executions of the aforementioned documentation having regard to the bank’s relevant requirements and standard operating procedures;
  • Providing legal advisory services in respect of Global Market’s products, businesses and operations, including without limitation, reviewing and advising on general trading agreements, trade confirmations, indicative term sheets and like agreements/ documents;
  • Participating in various regulatory initiatives and undertaking industry-wide projects for purposes of compliance with any and all regulatory reforms/ transitions and the timelines thereto from time to time;
  • Engaging and liaising with the bank’s approved external counsels (local or foreign) on any of the aforementioned tasks as and when required e.g. issuances of requisite legal opinions; and
  • General data governance work and updating/ input of data with respect to legal agreements in relevant banking systems.

Job Requirements

Pre-requisites:

  • Recognized Degree in legal studies/ banking/ finance
  • Minimum One -three (3) years’ relevant experience in banking and/ or legal advisory work (prior experience with legal documentation would be preferred) . Graduates without relevant experience but a degree in Law will also be considered for the role. 
  • Good knowledge of derivatives/ treasury products as well as familiarity with legal concepts and regulations would be an advantage though not mandatory
  • Being resourceful, accountable, analytical and meticulous is a must
  • Strong computer literacy in MS Excel, MS Word, Power Point would be required; proficiency in system-based programs would be advantageous though not compulsory
  • Good communication skills and able to interact well with/ relate well to people across any and all levels
  • Fluency in spoken and written English is a must
