About the Department

 

The Compliance function is a strategic partner and a trusted business enabler to the Board and senior management. It is our responsibility to ensure that the Group continuously fulfils its regulatory obligations in today’s tight and dynamic regulatory landscape. To do that, we work closely with internal stakeholders to identify and to assess regulatory risks. This collaboration also includes developing practical solutions that integrate regulations into operational requirements as well as actively shaping and promoting stronger compliance culture and literacy in the Bank.

Job Responsibilities

 

As part of the Governance & Liaison team in Group Compliance, the successful candidate will lead the strategy and execution of ongoing engagement and relationship management with MAS, as well as to support Finance and Budgeting activities of Group Compliance.  Key responsibilities include:


Regulatory interaction

  • Develop strategy and governance for regulatory relationship management and engagement to ensure close and positive relationship with MAS
  • Liaise with MAS on regular submissions (including annual CRAFT submission) and ad-hoc information requests
  • Oversee the coordination of meetings with MAS (including Supervisory College and Annual Business Meetings)
  • Coordinate bank-wide MAS consultation papers and MAS inspections where necessary

 

Regulatory analysis and reporting

  • Oversee the dissemination of regulatory updates to Group Compliance teams
  • Manage the analysis of regulatory communication to uncover insights and hotspots, using data analytics
  • Manage reporting to senior management on regulatory interaction and insights
  • Drive the MAS-Tx Onboarding Taskforce

 

Finance and Budgeting

  • Support finance and budget reporting for Group Compliance

Job Requirements

 

⦁    Degree qualification with at least 10 years of work experience, preferably with prior experience with the local banking regulator or with a Big 4 accounting firm.
⦁    Prior regulatory engagement role at a major financial services firm or CPA/ CA professional qualification will be an advantage
⦁    Demonstrate high level of initiative, pro-activeness and accountability.
⦁    Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex concepts and consolidate into material for external regulators and senior executives
⦁    Ability to build strong internal and external networks and experience engaging with senior management on strategic regulatory issues
⦁    Ability to establish and maintain positive engagement with stakeholders and team members
