About the Department

The Wholesale Bank function operates a dynamic business model that provides financial services and solutions to help our clients achieve their strategic business objectives. Our mission is to become the premier-provider of banking services and solutions for Asia-based commercial banking companies (small medium enterprises), large corporations, financial institutions as well as multinational corporations. Our coverage teams work in full alignment with specialised teams across Transaction Banking, Investment Banking, Global Markets and Group Retail to deliver seamless solutions to our clients.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of Relationship Managers that are responsible in marketing and sales of deposit products such as deposits, cash and trade management solutions and Global Markets products to Commercial Banking non-borrowing and borrowing profile customers.
  • Work with borrowing team to grow deposits and coming up with events to drive deposit growth.
  • Identify, develop and retain talent. Ensure clear, regular & open dialogue with staff on all aspects of the business, including performance evaluation.
  • Build and deepen customer loyalty and satisfaction through word and deed: be a role model, quick to address defects and institute measurements and tracking.
  • Ensure maintenance of the highest possible standards of sales practices and investment advice for clients in line with UOB’s advisory and sales processes.
  • Identify market opportunities for business growth & takes charge to implement sales programs to achieve the desired results.
  • Grow the portfolio by way of new client acquisition & relationship deepening through cross-sell of appropriate products.
  • Be fully responsible and accountable for all the customer relationships under management by way of KYC and personally getting to know the top clients of the unit.
  • Exercise sound business judgement and, at all times, to safeguard the interest of the bank as well as that of the customers.
  • To ensure at all times, compliance with the bank’s policies and guidelines pertaining to staff behavior, sales, products and marketing.
  • Provide supervisory oversight on all aspects of sales and account management; ensuring transactions are done in accordance with approved policies and regulations.

Job Requirements

  • Must have demonstrated success in a corporate/commercial wealth management sales background within a financial services company.
  • Preferable past experience of leading a successful team.
  • Strong knowledge of financial products and services, financial markets, foreign exchange policy and economic environments.
  • University degree in a related area.
  • Strong negotiating and influencing skills
  • Excellent presentations and networking skills
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Highly developed client service and sales skills as well as in being a first class organizer of both own and others time.
  • People management skills
  • Understand management strategy and focus, and ensure adherence of team’s game plan towards the same
  • Positive attitude and personality
