About the Department

The Technology and Operations function is comprised of five teams of specialists with distinct capabilities: business partnership, technology, operations, risk governance and planning support and services. We work closely together to harness the power of technology to support our physical and digital banking services and operations. This includes developing, centralising and standardising technology systems as well as banking operations in Singapore and overseas branches.

 

Justification

Build-up of in-country Production Support team to uplift capacity of local production support in system deployment, service recovery and application problem management for the 7 existing systems and 7 new applications (Local Proxy, CBV, VRR, ETAX, VPF, FR, UC) after Foundation Build projects.

 

Job Objectives

Production Support Engineer is responsible for supporting system deployment, incident recovery, application permanence fix for local applications, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations and contributing towards the continuous improvement of the application systems.

The scope of work includes working with internal team and external partners to ensure successful application implementation, system recovery, bug fixing in timely manner.

 

Job Summary:

Production Support Engineer is responsible for supporting system deployment, incident recovery, application permanence fix for local applications, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations and contributing towards the continuous improvement of the application systems.

The scope of work includes working with internal team and external partners to ensure successful application implementation, system recovery, bug fixing in timely manner.

Job Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain the availability and performance of applications in line with agreed service levels (SLAs)
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems reported by end-users or detected via system monitoring tools
  • Perform root cause analysis on major incidents to prevent recurrence
  • Manage user access requests and changes according to established policies
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as development, infrastructure, architecture, etc. to enhance application systems and processes.
  • Lead or participate in project reviews and evaluations, ensuring alignment of technology investments with the Enterprise Architecture Framework and the bank’s strategic directions
  • Manage risks and issues relating to the successful execution of assigned projects
  • Monitor progress against project plans and identify areas for improvement.

Job Requirements

  • English proficiency.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in IT Application Development, Application Maintenance and Support, preferably in a banking environment
  • Experience with incident management tools such as ServiceNow, BMC Remedy, etc.
  • Solid knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC).
  • Solid understanding of IT governance frameworks and risk management principles.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages like Shell, Python, Perl, PowerShell, etc.
  • Familiarity with web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, SOAP, REST, etc.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex technical issues
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Good documentation skills
