About the Department

The Compliance function is a strategic partner and a trusted business enabler to the Board and senior management. It is our responsibility to ensure that the Group continuously fulfils its regulatory obligations in today’s tight and dynamic regulatory landscape. To do that, we work closely with internal stakeholders to identify and to assess regulatory risks. This collaboration also includes developing practical solutions that integrate regulations into operational requirements as well as actively shaping and promoting stronger compliance culture and literacy in the Bank.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of UOBHK's Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) data analytics infrastructure, including model development, system upgrades/redesigns, and ongoing enhancement support.
  • Work closely with the Head Office to drive AFC data analytics and system projects, ensuring seamless deployment of technical solutions tailored to local needs.
  • Implement processes / systems to monitor data quality and drive optimization efforts.
  • Oversee system projects from project planning and testing design to post-implementation review, ensuring effective roll-out of data analytics solutions.
  • Provide ongoing enhancement and maintenance support to continuously improve AFC data analytics models and systems.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Computing Science / Engineering, Business or other relevant disciplines
  • 5-7 years of experience working in relevant fields, preferably with experiences in managing AFC data analytics and system implementation
  • Proficiency in Python / Spark to code complex data engineering use cases
  • Experience in data engineering tools such as Hive/Impala, Oozie, Hadoop, etc.
  • Skilled in schema design and dimensional data modeling
  • Experience with robotic process automation (RPA) and its application in disseminating analytics outcomes
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer business questions and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Experience in deploying and scaling system solutions
  • Strong people skills and take a big picture approach to planning
