About the Department

Group Finance supports enhanced decision-making to achieve optimal and sustainable financial outcomes for our shareholders. We are responsible for providing insights into the performance of the Group through financial, regulatory and performance reporting of the Group.

Job Responsibilities

Lead the Entity Reporting & Control Team to ensure all financial accounting and payment functions are delivered on time with good quality; enhance internal controls and compliance.

 

  • Drive and uphold accounting and financial reporting process in accordance to Group’s accounting  practices/policies/guidelines and related controls, enhance process efficiency and standardization.
  • Review all financial reports required by Head Office and External authority to ensure timely submission as well as compliance with group reporting requirement and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure proper controls are in place such that all accounting records are complete and accurate (e.g. reconciliations, monthly accruals, suspense & control accounts, month-end & year-end closing, etc.).
  • Supervise payments to vendors ensuring compliance with internal policy.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliation and substantiation and highlight any issues identified.
  • Analyse the impact of changes in Group Accounting Manual and HKFRS to the bank’s financial accounting. Collaborate with Group Accounting Policy team to ensure accounting policies are adhered.
  • Prepare and review HK tax calculations, in collaboration with Group Tax.
  • Liaison with Internal and External Auditors for all aspects of accounting and audit.
  • Support ad-hoc business request, projects, testing and new product features implementation.

Job Requirements

  • Degree holder, majoring in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent qualifications.
  • Professional accounting qualification, such as CPA or equivalent, is preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in banking and financial industries, with at least 2-3 years of experience at managerial level.
  • Strong interpersonal skill and able to interact with and influence peers, leadership based upon technical expertise and advice on GL accounting flow.

  • Ability to manage and execute on multiple, critical projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Familiar with accounting and general ledger system; proficiency in PC knowledge such as Word and Microsoft Excel.
  • Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese.
