About the Department

The Wholesale Bank function operates a dynamic business model that provides financial services and solutions to help our clients achieve their strategic business objectives. Our mission is to become the premier-provider of banking services and solutions for Asia-based commercial banking companies (small medium enterprises), large corporations, financial institutions as well as multinational corporations. Our coverage teams work in full alignment with specialised teams across Transaction Banking, Investment Banking, Global Markets and Group Retail to deliver seamless solutions to our clients.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead a team in managing and growing a portfolio of commercial banking accounts.
• Execute the business plan and strategies in alignment with KPIs set by the Business Unit Head (BUH) and the Bank.
• Contribute to the overall business direction by identifying growth opportunities and managing risks effectively.
• Deepen existing client relationships and expand the client base through the acquisition of new customers.
• Promote a wide range of banking products and services, including deposits (with a focus on CASA), CAPEX loans, trade and working capital finance, factoring and supply chain financing, equipment finance, equity and debt capital markets and treasury products (e.g., leveraged forwards, CCS/IRS)
• Collaborate closely with Coverage Heads (CH), Relationship Managers (RMs), and peers across UOB Hong Kong, UOB China, and other network countries to ensure seamless execution of business plans.
• Drive commercial banking growth by increasing the number of accounts, loan and deposit balances (especially CASA), and fee-based product penetration.
• Explore and promote sustainable financing solutions, including green loans and bonds.
• Maintain regular client engagement to understand evolving banking needs and assess credit standing.
• Uphold a strong risk management culture, ensuring all business activities comply with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
• Foster a collaborative and cohesive working environment within the team and across departments.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum 12 years of client coverage experience in commercial banking, focusing on mid-cap and large SME clients in Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta, with a strong sales track record
• Mandatory HKMA Type 1 & 4 licenses; HKFI license is a plus. Solid credit and industry knowledge in the commercial banking sector
• Excellent communication skills in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. Strong analytical and presentation abilities
• Team player with a collaborative mindset. Self-driven, results-oriented, and customer-focused
• Holder of ECF on Credit Risk Management (CRM) accredited by The Hong Kong Institute of Bankers (HKIB) is preferred
