About the Department
The Compliance function is a strategic partner and a trusted business enabler to the Board and senior management. It is our responsibility to ensure that the Group continuously fulfils its regulatory obligations in today’s tight and dynamic regulatory landscape. To do that, we work closely with internal stakeholders to identify and to assess regulatory risks. This collaboration also includes developing practical solutions that integrate regulations into operational requirements as well as actively shaping and promoting stronger compliance culture and literacy in the Bank.
Job Responsibilities
Compliance Assurance Review
- Conduct regular compliance assurance review/testing with a focus on Anti-Financial Crime such as AML/CFT, sanctions and fraud risk to ensure the AFC framework and controls of the Bank are implemented properly
- Collaborate with Business Units/Support Units to identify root causes of control identifies and develop corrective action plans
- Identify trends and focus areas based on compliance assurance review results to draw Management attention and support management decision making
- Develop and maintain compliance assurance review methodologies and maintain proper documentation of work done
Compliance Strategy & Governance
- Support the Head of Compliance to facilitate effective and optimal execution of compliance strategy and management of the operations of compliance function
- Provide administrative support to the Compliance Department such as access controls, document retentions and internal approval handling
- Participate in compliance initiatives and projects, management reporting and metrics preparation and other management/governance tasks
- Conduct quality controls on tasks performed by Compliance to ensure internal and external requirements are properly followed
Job Requirements
- Degree in business or finance or related subject
- Strong knowledge of local and global AML and regulatory standards, with experience of compliance framework design and implementation at a full-service bank
- Able to work on multiple assignments
- A team player, strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Possess good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese
- ECF qualification is preferred
