About the Department

The Wholesale Bank function operates a dynamic business model that provides financial services and solutions to help our clients achieve their strategic business objectives. Our mission is to become the premier-provider of banking services and solutions for Asia-based commercial banking companies (small medium enterprises), large corporations, financial institutions as well as multinational corporations. Our coverage teams work in full alignment with specialised teams across Transaction Banking, Investment Banking, Global Markets and Group Retail to deliver seamless solutions to our clients.

Job Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with client-facing teammates to consult on trade sale opportunities and provide product expertise and consultation necessary to deliver solutions to existing and newly identified Transaction Banking clients.  Viewed as an advisor and subject matter expert that adds value to the client relationship from trade perspective.  Prepare client calling plan to identify wallet size and opportunities.  Respond to request for proposal and presentations. 
  • Focus on developing opportunities around Open Account trade solutions (Financial Supply Chain Management), with solid understanding of working capital management cycle along client’s eco-system (import and export).  Work closely with CMB coverage team to identify anchor prospects and spokes relationships, provide advisory insights and pitch relevant solutions (domestic and cross-border) to generate sales results.
  • Establish and maintain existing and prospect TB client relationships.  Work closely with Relationship Managers and understands the bank’s directives, internal procedure, and process to ensure that trade facilities granted are well structured, efficiently established and actively utilized to meet annual targets being assigned. 
  • Coordinate and work closely with internal relevant business partners and stakeholders to ensure client’s requirements are timely addressed or met from inception of relationship.
  • Actively identify potential clients through data mining or any other market intelligence, to follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activities. 
  • Develop and maintain sales materials and keep current of product knowledge.  Rapidly adapting to changes and challenges in the market.
  • Monitor client revenue trend regularly to ensure any short fall in revenue targets is managed through active sales/client management process.
  • Assist in organizing and/or participate in sales and marketing events for TB clients.
  • Source and maintain local/regional market and industry information, competitor product offering, pricing, through active networking and client interactions.
  • Identify product gaps and potential product enhancements / initiatives that will further help enhance the firm’s market competitiveness/position and customer satisfaction. 

Job Requirements

  • At least 8  years of trade sales experience, especially to MNC, mid-cap local Corporate and Chinese private owned enterprises.
  • Strong understanding of trade and Financial Supply Chain Management/Receivable Finance products and services.
  • Solid experience in trade finance technical, operational, and regulatory concepts
  • Demonstrated success in deals closure and prospecting.
  • Credit knowledge and analytical skills will be a plus.
  • Innovative mindset and ability to think out-of-box
