About Banking Talent Programme

In collaboration with The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA), United Overseas Bank Limited (UOB) have jointly launched the Banking Talent Programme to nurture young talents for the industry, and provide participants with an opportunity to better prepare for future careers in the banking sector. The Programme targets fresh graduates from local universities who will be offered six-month work opportunities and industry-specific training.

During the programme, you will be assigned to one of the business functions:

• Corporate Banking
• Commercial Banking
• Financial Institution Group
• Structured Trade & Commodity Finance
• Client Fulfillment & Services
• Legal and Compliance department

A  series of inductions seminars as well as professional training courses will also be organised by the HKMA, in collaboration with The Hong Kong Academy of Finance, The Hong Kong Institute of Bankers and reputable industry practitioners.

Job Responsibilities

You will be assigned to the department to learn about key aspects of our business and receive the training from The Hong Kong Institute of Bankers over these 6 months. 

• Develop understanding of the assigned department in the banking industry by working closely with the team members
• Provide business support to the assigned department on execution of daily transaction, report preparation, market research and financial assessment etc.
• Support ad hoc projects as required

Job Requirements

• Graduate with a bachelor's degree in 2021 from universities in or outside Hong Kong
• Strong interpersonal skills and attention to details
• Team player and is able to work under pressure and independently
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
• Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese

1. Programme Key Dates:

• Students graduating with a bachelor’s degree in 2021 from universities in or outside Hong Kong and who are Hong Kong residents lawfully employable in Hong Kong.
