About the Department

UOB Private Bank is dedicated to managing the wealth of high-net-worth individuals with investment assets of $5 million and above. Keeping in mind our clients’ financial objectives, we provide tailored products and solutions that draw on the Group’s comprehensive suite of personal, business and investment services.

Job Responsibilities

Reporting to COO, this person works closely with COO to identify, monitor and address business and operational risks for core private banking systems, processes, controls and procedures in Hong Kong.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, manage, drive and coordinate with stakeholders and vendors to implement systems, processes for UOB HK private banking.
  • Coordinate and run Hong Kong Project Working Group for PB system.
  • Work closely with COO to define system/process requirements, operational KPIs and SLAs etc.
  • Plan, manage and drive system and user acceptance tests.
  • A core member of business continuity team.
  • A core member of the outsourcing team to set and monitor operation standards and problem resolution/recovery team.
  • A key driver to deliver continuous systems and process improvements.
  • Provide sound and pragmatic risk advisory to business and support function for initiatives/activities and project 
  • Perform quality assurance reviews through thematic testing and ongoing post transaction review
  • Co-ordinate and manage the Private Bank Risk Forum
  • Perform independent front to back oversight for risk taking activities, including review and assessment of the completeness and effectiveness of support function’s controls
  • Facilitate incident management from investigation and assembling of root causes to ensuring measures identified is effective and sustainable
  • Tracking of open action plans resulting from Ops Risk events or audits are resolved and implemented within the committed timeline   

Job Requirements

  • Strong appreciate and in depth understanding of Private Banking business models and processes end to end; complemented by good program / project management skill sets.
  • Mature and able to work independently with minimal supervision and willingness to be hands on.
  • Innovative problem solver, able to identify and understand issues and drive towards effective resolution.
  • Good inter-personal and communication skills with strong project management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and tight timelines. Prior experience in financial institution preferably in risk/assurance function
  • Good knowledge of front to back process and internal controls within private bank set up
  • Proven ability to balance business needs and controls requirements
  • Independent and ability to work under pressure
  • Effective communication and analytical skills; has demonstrated ability to work effectively with all levels within the organization
