About the Department

The Compliance function is a strategic partner and a trusted business enabler to the Board and senior management. It is our responsibility to ensure that the Group continuously fulfils its regulatory obligations in today’s tight and dynamic regulatory landscape. To do that, we work closely with internal stakeholders to identify and to assess regulatory risks. This collaboration also includes developing practical solutions that integrate regulations into operational requirements as well as actively shaping and promoting stronger compliance culture and literacy in the Bank.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Maintenance of Training Procedures
  • Review and update Compliance Training procedures and AML/CFT/Sanctions Training Procedures on a regular basis
  1. Secretariat of Compliance Education Advisory Committee (EAC)
  • Coordinate the quarterly Compliance EAC meeting
  • Facilitate meetings by issuing invitation to members, conducting the agenda, follow up on action items and producing minutes of meetings for subsequent EAC approval
  1. Rolling out key Compliance Training programs
  • Coordinating annual AML/CFT training for UOBM Senior Management
  • Facilitating bankwide Annual AML/CFT/Sanctions e-learning refresher
  • Facilitating quarterly training refreshers/updates for Business Compliance and Regulatory Assurance functions
  • Curating and disseminating Monthly Compliance Digest to UOBM wide audience
  • Developing Weekly Compliance briefing materials for UOBM frontline (e.g Channels/Branches)
  1. Other Facilitation/Reporting Roles
  • Coordinate annual AML Control Self-Assessment (AMLCSA) exercise for UOBM
  • Compile and report quarterly numbers for AML Key Performance Indicators (AMLKPI) to AMLC and ORMC.
  • Complete any ad hoc assignments assigned by the Team Lead/ Head.

Job Requirements

  • Professionally qualified – Graduate or Post Graduate in a numerate or research discipline.
  • At least 2-3 years of overall experience with experience general financial crime compliance (fraud / sanctions/ anti money laundering) or intelligence experience.
  • Exposure to Compliance and risk management with deep understanding in AML/CFT will be an added advantage
  • Experienced in designing Compliance related training material
  • Experienced in conducting training sessions
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team.
