About the Department

The Credit and Risk Management function is comprised of three teams: Risk Management, Credit and Special Asset Management. We manage the risks arising from the Group’s business activities within the risk appetite established by the Board. This involves identifying and evaluating the risks, developing effective risk governance and strategies as well as providing independent assessment of the overall risk profile.

Job Responsibilities

Post Approval Credit Review (PACR)

  • To lead the Post Approval Credit Review (PACR) team in conducting credit review of approved wholesale and retail credit cases.  The review entails providing independent assessment on the quality of credit appraisal as well as to provide check and balance to ensure that credits are granted in accordance to the bank’s risk acceptance criteria.  The review is on sampling basis, in accordance to the approved sampling and review criteria. 
  • To be the PACR review officer for all credit cases approved by In-country Credit Committee (ICCC) for Wholesale Banking segment.
  • To raise valid findings and obtain response / action plan to address the findings raised.
  • To submit monthly PACR review report to Deputy Country Head of Risk Management for review, and thereafter to Country Head of Risk Management for noting.
  • To submit annual PACR review report to Risk Management Committee and thereafter, to Board of Directors for notation.

Independent Monitoring (IM)

  • To lead the Independent Monitoring (IM) team in the monitoring and reporting of delinquent accounts and identification of emerging risks.
  • Proactively assist business units to identify high risk accounts, provide independent reporting for management oversight and formulation of action plan(s) to prevent further deterioration in asset quality.
  • To provide Credit Management Committee (CMC) the following reports and analysis:

(a) Overview of Vulnerable Borrowers

(b) Vulnerable Borrowers with High Risk

(c) Bankwide year-to-date Impairment Loss (IL) Movement

(d) New Vulnerable Borrowers and Major New Special Mention Accounts

(e) Major Accounts Pending Payment

(f) Tracking of Repayment for Business Banking Delinquent Accounts

(g) Wholesale Bank Top 10 Borrowers with Moratorium

(h) Overview of Bullet Balloon Repayment

(i) Bankwide Delinquency and Delinquency by BU and NPL Trend

(j) Bankwide Islamic Bank Window (IBW) Delinquency and NPL Ratio

And any other reports / analysis per CMC"s request.

Secretariat Support

  • To provide secretariat and coordination support for Group Credit Committee (GCC), In-country Credit Committee (ICCC) and Credit Management Committee (CMC).
  • To approve Corporate Banking cases (on behalf of ICCC) in Credit Master System.

Job Requirements

  • Degree with more than 15 years of related experience in Credit.
  • Possesses a minimum of 5 years in managerial (leader) role in post approval credit review and independent credit monitoring.
  • Those who have Credit professional certification will be an added advantage.
