About the Department

The Compliance function is a strategic partner and a trusted business enabler to the Board and senior management. It is our responsibility to ensure that the Group continuously fulfils its regulatory obligations in today’s tight and dynamic regulatory landscape. To do that, we work closely with internal stakeholders to identify and to assess regulatory risks. This collaboration also includes developing practical solutions that integrate regulations into operational requirements as well as actively shaping and promoting stronger compliance culture and literacy in the Bank.

Job Responsibilities

  • To provide support with regard to managing the Law Enforcement Agencies production orders, freezing orders, seizing order, revocation order and variation order and to ensure positive relationships with the Agencies are maintained.
  • Ensure all production orders, freezing orders, seizing order, revocation order and variation order are executed within the agreed timeline given by the LEA or at maximum within two weeks.
  • To conduct proper screening on name provided in the Order and ensure correct Hold Code applied within the same day of the Order received
  • To maintain LEA register with details of the name provided in the Order once completed with the validation and screening process.
  • To conduct proper screening on the information of the suspected mule accountholder provided in the listing from FIED.
  • To notify relevant BU to conduct customer relationship review for mule accountholder customer that is having banking relationship.
  • To monitor and work closely with Retail Risk Management on suspected mule account investigation and reporting to FIED.
  • To ensure a timely report to the BNM Supervisor on the update and status of the suspected mule accountholder.
  • To ensure the listing and/ or de-listing of suspected Mule Accountholder are submitted to FIED by the 7th day of the following month.
  • 'To complete at minimum average of 2 QARs per day.
  • To ensure the investigation done within the agreed timeline i.e. 15 working days for each QAR.
  • To ensure Suspicious Transaction Report (STR) are submitted to FIED within the next working day from the date established the suspicion.
  • To maintain STR register with details of the STR once the investigation is completed.
  • To conduct transaction review and relationship assessment for request received from the Regulator, Group Compliance and others.
  • Ensure the Customer Relationship Review process related to LEA Order and/ or suspected Mule accountholder are timely and accurately updated.

Job Requirements

  • Professionally qualified – Graduate or Post Graduate in a numerate or research discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years (SO), 4 years (Mgr), 6 years (AVP) of overall experience with experience general financial crime (fraud / sanctions / anti money laundering) or intelligence experience.
  • Exposure to business/ corporate intelligence/law enforcement and/ or regulatory experience and also preferably consulting (the Big 4s, corporate intelligence firms) or Financial Services industry experience will be highly regarded.
  • Experience in Business Intelligence / Financial Crime Intelligence / Corporate Intelligence / Forensic.
  • Excellent analytical and report-writing skills.
  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
  • Strong sense of accountability and work ethic.
