UOB Innovation Hub 2 (InnoHub2) is a UOB-wholly owned subsidiary and a Centre of Excellence based in Malaysia, providing Group Business Services (GBS) to support the UOB Group. Job Responsibilities

Data, Report and Dashboard Analyst is responsible for gathering and analyzing data to guide management’s decision making, identifying data trends, and exploring and highlighting improvements for agile teams’ performance. Based on stakeholder needs, this technical role identifies requirements, and designs and implements data related systems which include exploring multiple data sources, building data pipelines, automating processes, analyzing, and breaking down the results and communicating the results in various forms such as metrics / reports / KPIs /dashboards and similar, and providing refinement suggestions based on findings from various data sources.

  • Provide technical support in data storage structures, data mining, and data cleansing, and perform data profiling and gap analysis, source to target mappings, data issue capturing, resolution and escalation, including identifying scope creep, improving data quality and others
  • Drive IH2 data analysis to identify, analyze, and predict trends or patterns associated with potential performance/audit/compliance risks, and lead and implement automation in data compilation and report/KPI generation for analysis use in management meetings, including performance and key deliverables of projects. Standardize the reports, KPIs and performance measurement metrics across Programs and Projects
  • Create and maintain key data sets and ways of collecting data, use different tools and technologies such as eazyBI, Power BI, Jira, Confluence, and like to conduct timely ad-hoc and scheduled data/report/KPI preparation requests, perform data, transactional and trend analysis from multiple sources, and build visualization dashboard/generate reports for various stakeholders
  • Perform end to end analytic support: from understanding business requirements, data discovery and extraction, to model development and evaluation, and collaborate and work closely with stakeholders to identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive business outcomes. Also execute exploratory data analysis to answer business questions and inform business decisions, identify data sources and provisioning of data into enterprise data platforms
  • Conduct training to end-users on new reports/KPIs and dashboards, partner with and support users in other internal teams to develop and deliver data science solutions to further value-add in performance/audit reviews. Also ensure compliance with data governance and best practices and standards set forth by bank policies and requirements. Also prepare and maintain documentation for data collection, management, and reporting

Job Requirements

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional qualifications in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, or similar quantitative discipline, with at least 1 years of total work experience in banking/finance industry, preferably with business / functional knowledge
  • Basic knowledge in Software Delivery Life Cycle is preferred. Having experience as a data analyst or in a related role/field in banking/finance industry is desirable
  • Excellent command of Excel, At least 2 years of hand-on experience in MS SQL or Jira or Confluence or Qlik Sense or Power BI or eazyBI and relevant data/report-related plugins for these systems
  • Experience in gathering and documentation of business and technical requirements for data collection, analysis, maintenance, and reporting purposes
  • Proficient in designing, developing, modeling, and documenting data-driven solutions – including capturing / creating / utilizing data architectures, metadata systems, data dictionaries, databases, applications, pipelines, BI Tools, Big Data Platforms, analytical /query, and visualization tools\
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy, and keen to deep dive into data to find answers to yet unknown questions and have a natural desire to go beneath the surface of a problem
  • Exceptional data visualization and communication skills to present findings and insights to senior management and key stakeholders, including non-technical business users.
  • Excellent written / oral communication skills to effectively interact with different stakeholders and external vendors, able to work independently under pressure
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-fostered, multi-tasking environment, and a proactive team player who is curious about data and possesses a strong drive to create and lead initiatives
