About the Department

The Retail function provides Personal and Business Banking customers with financial solutions tailored to their needs. We help them manage their money wisely and meet their financial goals through an extensive range of products and services. These include deposit, insurance, secured and unsecured loans, investment and wealth advisory services.

We design and provide products and services that empower our customers to enjoy greater banking convenience while they extract more value from their money. In particular, we are focused on promoting and developing healthy saving and investment practices across generations.

Job Responsibilities

The UOB Financial Advisor Apprentice (FAA) is a 1-year programme to develop talents into becoming successful bankers and provide expertise client advisory. 

 

  • Complete training sessions by business function & ensure success in certification.
  • Perform Client Account Management during and after the training duration.
  • Review customer needs and asset allocation, pro-actively engage with the customer to validate the understanding of the needs.
  • Advise customers to enrich the relationships by mobilizing additional funds and sell other fee-based products / services based on the current and future customer needs.
  • Review product penetration for the assigned client base, identify potential customers who can be sold tailored products to enhance product penetration.
  • Ensure coverage of all relationships through customer engagements, risk profiling and financial planning.
  • Organise customer events to enhance customer bonding.
  • Acquire new customers through converting referral leads.
  • Compliance, Risk & Controls.
  • Ensure that KYC / AML and other compliance norms are strictly adhered to.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
     

 

Job Requirements

  • Open for bachelor's degree fresh graduates and junior hires.
  • Ability to manage relationships both internal and external, ability to multi-task.
  • Mandatory certifications as required for selling financial products (shall be issued during training if you do not posses any).
  • Substantial experience in Sales, Marketing and Customer Service would be an added advantage.
