Role Highlight

This position resides within Country Retail Credit and reports to the Country Head, Retail Credit.  As part of the team, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing the Country Retail Risk Appetite (CRRAF), Country Retail Credit Policies and Process Standards (CRCPPS) and establishing Risk Discipline Framework (RDF) for UOB Personal Financial Services business. The incumbent will also approve and oversee the compliance of Group and Country policy and process standards, portfolio and product risk appetite triggers, credit and profitability benchmarks within approved parameters.  The individual is also responsible for identifying and addressing any new or emerging risks that may affect the portfolio performance.

Job Responsibilities

  • Drive Group Credit Policy & Governance initiatives for Country Retail Credit
  • Ensure timely adoption and implementation of Group Policies and Process Standards, Risk Appetite and Risk Discipline Framework

  • Ensure business complies with approved and established governance, portfolio risk appetite and performance benchmarks.

  • Review and concur on credit proposals (e.g. credit test, policy relaxation, new products) and documents (e.g. Credit Policy Books, Portfolio Review Documents) submitted by Business Risk

  • Monitor of portfolio performance to ensure that portfolios are operating within approved appetite and benchmarks.

  • Conduct product and portfolio assurance review to identify areas of concerns and emerging risks with timely escalation to Group

  • Report gaps and breaches of any triggers (including action plans to close) and deviations to Group Credit policies

  • Provide Group Credit MIS and adhoc analysis to support RAS, RDF, PRD reviews and portfolio assessment

  • Provide loss analysis to facilitate Country Retail Credit Head review and effective challenge on credit losses

Job Requirements

  • 12+ years’ experience with credit policy analytics and development, preferably in secured and unsecured portfolios
  • Strong business and data analytics skills with proven track record of complex processes and data analyses/deliverables
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and dealing effectively with demanding business partners
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Ability to work with other stake holders and guide the analytics team to achieve the desired results
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to interact successfully with business partners, operations, technology and finance teams
  • Strong planning, coordination and organization skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional organization
  • Good project management
  • Bachelors degree in a Finance/Business/Mathematics or equivalent. Master’s degree is and added advantage.
