About the Department

UOB Innovation Hub 2 (InnoHub2) is a UOB-wholly owned subsidiary and a Centre of Excellence based in Malaysia, providing Group Business Services (GBS) to support the UOB Group. Started in 2021 with technology application design, development and support, InnoHub2 is expanding beyond technology services to deliver other business services to support the Bank’s growth ambition. We are looking for talented and motivated individuals to be part of the pioneer team spearheading the development and delivery of the new services.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the SWIFT Operations team in Malaysia hub to ensure the highest processing standards are consistently attained.
  • Plan, review, organize and supervise the functioning of the SWIFT Operations team – daily activities / daily team huddles, management of volumes and transaction processing, hiring, and training of resources etc.
  • Ensure timely and accurate routing of SWIFT messages in AMH system to the destination departments in accordance with SOP.
  • Ensure all controls – Start of day, intraday and End of day are meticulously followed, and evidence kept of the same.
  • Ensure escalations are raised to the Singapore team on a timely basis, as required.
  • Ensure all SLA’s / KPI’s as agreed with the Singapore team are duly met and active steps taken to ensure consistency in delivery.
  • Implement and maintain a high standard of operations control and compliance to always protect the Group’s and Clients’ interests.
  • Ensure all operations managed by the team are always ‘audit worthy’ and will pass scrutiny of the various 1st, 2nd and 3rd lines of defense teams.
  • Manage the key operational risk indicators of the team and maintain within acceptable levels.
  • Ensure error rate is within pre-agreed acceptable thresholds. Drive the team towards continuous operational excellence – inculcate an environment of “Zero defects in processing” and “Do it the right the first time. Everytime” within the team.
  • Ensure any complaints and queries from the Singapore team are handled on a timely basis
  • Continuously review operational processes to identify opportunities to “Eliminate / Simplify / Automate” (ESA). Discuss with Singapore team and implement accordingly. 
  • Review all People aspects of the team – optimally trained, motivated team who can deliver as per SLA requirements.
  • To train back up staff to ensure full continuity in services provided, as required.
  • BCP / DRP – ensure full alignment with the Group’s BCP requirements to ensure continuity of services. Participate in BCP / DRP testing in line with Group requirements. 
  • Provide guidance to staff as required on all technical and non-technical requirements, as needed.
  • Participate in projects and discussions with the Singapore team, as required.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree / Diploma holder
  • Minimum 10 years relevant experience in SWIFT operations with working knowledge of the different SWIFT message types
  • Good understanding of the technical aspects of SWIFT messages – inward and outward and how they link with the external environment, both banks and SWIFT
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent stakeholder management and proven skills in leading and motivating a team
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to come out with innovative solutions
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as a team player
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient computer skills – suite of MS applications
