UOB Innovation Hub 2 (InnoHub 2) is a newly set up technology centre located in Kuala Lumpur as part of UOB Group Technology and Operations to deliver innovative financial technology solutions that enable business growth and technology transformation. 

About the Department

The Technology and Operations function is comprised of five teams of specialists with distinct capabilities: business partnership, technology, operations, risk governance and planning support and services. We work closely together to harness the power of technology to support our physical and digital banking services and operations. This includes developing, centralising and standardising technology systems as well as banking operations in Singapore and overseas branches.

Job Responsibilities

SCOPE OF THE ROLE

  • Be responsible for end-to-end accountability for the technology direction and leadership, overseeing the adherence to technology, software development life cycle standards and policies, promoting a continuous improvement culture in the organisation
  • Drive technical improvements in the SDLC and automation frameworks
  • Develop the teams and encourage knowledge sharing
  • Be responsible in terms of productivity, quality, and delivery planning for the Squads in coordination with the Tribe Leads adherence as well with planning timelines
  • Serve a crucial purpose in the agile matrix. They aren’t the “boss” of the people but instead work with multiple squads. They help plan and orchestrate execution of the work, and they strive to build a cohesive team. They also provide inspiration, coaching, and feedback to team members, report back on progress to tribe leaders, and give input on people development and performance to senior mgmt. These leads acts as individual contributors who have developed leadership skills or at least developed an interest in learning these skills. The role requires the leads to where multiple hats to ensure timely delivery of the projects
  • Clear blockers and impediments and eliminate waste for the workstreams. To do that, they must create a working environment where raising impediments can occur, and members are not afraid to raise risks and impediments. As a servant leader, the Chapter Lead guides various squads towards self-organization and cross-functionality. They also encourage, support, and enable the team to reach their full potential and abilities

Job Requirements

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Strong Technical leadership 
  • Accountable for the agile processes and practices

  • Strong facilitator
  • Extensive Experience in developing web applications using Java/J2EE technologies
  • Experience in various design patterns & framework: Spring, Maven & Jenkins, Java platform, JavaScript frameworks, MVC patterns and principles of REST APIs, Service Oriented and microservices.
  • Web technologies: HTML, Javascript, CSS, ReactJS
  • Server-side Frameworks – Core-Java, Apache Camel, Maven, Spring framework, Spring Boot, Multi-threading, JDBC, JMS, Hibernate, JPA, JSON, Mockito, Swagger
  • Experience in DevOps – CICD, Quality Gates, Jenkins, Code repository and etc.
  • Experience in application architecture, messaging queue (MQ, connect direct or equivalent), middleware technologies (Weblogic, JBOSS,Apache tomcat or equivalent)
  • Experience in web & mobile application security (SSL, JWT or equivalent)
  • Experience in various deployment architecture (on-prem, cloud, hybrid)
  • Skilled in database technologies such as Oracle, MariaDB

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
