About the department
UOB Innovation Hub 2 (InnoHub2) is a UOB-wholly owned subsidiary and a Centre of Excellence based in Malaysia, providing Group Business Services (GBS) to support the UOB Group. Started in 2021 with technology application design, development and support, InnoHub2 is expanding beyond technology services to deliver other business services to support the Bank’s growth ambition. Job Description
Reporting to Group Retail AFC Lead
Responsibilities and activities
Control and Reporting
- Ensure effectiveness of the risk and control environment by supporting OET Lead with workforce management, metrics and reporting, and quality control of the AFC Ops functions.
- Ensures strong first Line of Defence control ownership including periodic assessment and quality control review.
- Proactively identifies opportunities to develop and implement quality control on key processes in AFC Ops functions.
- Creates and maintains the interface between the AFC Ops and Group functions.
- Analyse, ensure, and provide regular reporting of operational metrics to the Group Retail AFC Lead for governance forums and regulatory reporting.
- Continually seeks to improve the operational effectiveness, efficiency, and quality standards.
Organisational transformation
- Is responsible for implementing changes affecting AFC Ops functions including any changes to policy / SOP, technology adoption, process enhancements and remediation of control weaknesses / gaps
- Monitors change performance and upcoming change roadmaps, recommends enhancements, and supports the delivery of change programmes.
- Executes and integrates new capabilities as driven by global objectives / initiatives.
Stakeholder engagement
- Engages with key stakeholders (AFC Ops Functions, Group Compliance, Group Technology & Operations) in COE and Group teams to drive effective transformation
- Attends regular management and team meetings to provide updates on status of projects, initiatives and change roadmap
Leadership and capacity management
- Responsible for performance management, leave management, hiring and training in line with HR policies and best practices
Requirements
- 7-10 years of direct experience in Financial Crime, Risk Assessment or Quality Control in Financial Services, Banking or Regulatory environment
- Demonstrated capability to interpret complex requirements and be a self-starter
- Experience in large transformation programmes in a leadership position within Financial Services
- A proven track record of developing and communicating a sound strategy that addresses both short-term commitments and longer-term strategic goals
- Excellent senior stakeholder management, the ability to build constructive partnerships with diverse stakeholders and challenge where required
