About the Department

The Compliance function is a strategic partner and a trusted business enabler to the Board and senior management. It is our responsibility to ensure that the Group continuously fulfils its regulatory obligations in today’s tight and dynamic regulatory landscape. To do that, we work closely with internal stakeholders to identify and to assess regulatory risks. This collaboration also includes developing practical solutions that integrate regulations into operational requirements as well as actively shaping and promoting stronger compliance culture and literacy in the Bank.

Job Responsibilities

  • Build data sets for the internal stakeholders to facilitate:
    • complex data analysis to identify, analyse, and predict trends or patterns associated with potential regulatory risks.
    • Develop custom analysis using BI tools and applying data analytic methodologies to provide valuable information to stakeholders
  • Collating data from EDAG database and other BU information in the most accurate and systematic manner, to be presented in a concise report; for both internal and external uses.
  • Respond to complex ad-hoc data requests
  • Create, develop and maintain data models, reporting systems, data automation systems, dashboards that allow the Compliance Team to understand customer behaviour, and extract key insights that impact operations and decisions making.
  • Perform review on the parameter values (i.e. Threshold tuning)/rules setting of Transaction monitoring system including applying mathematical analysis using statistical methodology.
  • Provides recommendations for rule enhancements based on the predicted analysis on potential impact of the proposed changes.
  • Performs data analysis required to troubleshoot data related issues and assist in the resolution of data issues.
  • Conduct timely ad-hoc and scheduled data analysis to support the Compliance stakeholders.

Job Requirements

  • An undergraduate degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field with experience in systems administration, analysis, configuration
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in in the related field is highly desirable.
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data visualization, data blending and data preparation
  • High proficiency in automation – macro programming/Python
  • Experience with detections/rules testing and threshold tuning is a plus
  • High proficiency in SQL programming
  • Experience with SAS programming is a plus
  • Experience with visualization and dashboard applications like Power BI, Qliksense, Tableau
  • Good analytical, critical reasoning, and communication skills.

  • Well versed with both verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with strong focus on attention to detail.
  • The ability to work effectively in a team-fostered, multi-tasking environment.
