About the Department

The Technology and Operations function is comprised of five teams of specialists with distinct capabilities: business partnership, technology, operations, risk governance and planning support and services. We work closely together to harness the power of technology to support our physical and digital banking services and operations. This includes developing, centralising and standardising technology systems as well as banking operations in Singapore and overseas branches.

Job Responsibilities

The purpose of this role is to drive and deliver the IT Infrastructure of Workplace and End User Computing (EUC) for the company and in-sourced services for local operating companies/departments. This role implements the Workplace Technology strategy and projects, and operate it. Together with the head, this role develops overall strategy for Workplace technology, enforcing end to end governance and compliance requirements including Audit, Risk and Security. It covers Hardware & Software of EUC including licenses, related Applications and Inventory, managing entire lifecycle of the infrastructure. This role also covers the IT support for the Bank’s branches IT infrastructure.


  • Lead in delivering Workplace Technology and Branch IT Support services such as Personal Computer (PC) management, devices, desktop software etc covering both operation and new implementation to respective stakeholders and ensure the necessary user and business requirements are addressed in timely manner.
  • Execute the required operations and support of department responsibilities within agreed SLA and OLA. Where the support is carried out by 3rd party such as Group IT or Vendors, ensure it is delivered as per agreed scope and terms of the contract.
  • Drive the operations and all implementations are in adherence and in compliance with UOB security policy, risk management and obsolescence program including RMIT. To have proper exception in place for items that cannot be upgraded or patched due to application or technology dependencies. Support audit activities and remediation properly.
  • Plan, execute and monitor hardware, software and support contract renewals to ensure services are properly covered and risks are managed accordingly. 
  • Establish and keep good relationship and collaboration with other departments in T&O, other groups in UOBM and importantly with Group IT, to ensure services are delivered meet the expectation of all stakeholders.
  • Perform hands-on and in-depth troubleshooting of issues to ensure the closure of any reported incidents and problems
  • Participate actively and possibly drive the digital workplace transformation to ensure it is delivered according to management vision and set milestones including the adoption of it.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of Experience in Workplace or End User Computing
  • Strong knowledge in workplace technology and end user computing for both hardware and software, IT network and end user security.
  • Experience managing large scales of end users (more than 4,000) computing, going thru the several rounds of full lifecycle of the PC implementation.
  • Experience in supporting IT requirement for Branch operations.
  • Experience in IT business case and proposal development, presentation to management and contract negotiation.
  • Possess adequate technical hands-on skills and experience in EUC services.
  • Experience in handling Audit work for Workplace Technology and EUC.
  • Sound knowledge in few tools used to manage EUC such as SCCM, inventory mgmt., etc.
  • Experience in managing contracts with major IT providers such as HP, Dell, Microsoft etc.
  • Possess ITIL skill and knowledge in Bank Negara Policy such as RMIT will be an added advantage.
