Job Responsibilities

The COO office provides various business critical functions for the group such as PMO (Project Management Office) governance, Business operations support, Financial Management and drives the group’s change management initiatives.

The role reports to Head of PMO & Business Ops and will be responsible for working with relevant stakeholders to define and drive the strategic roadmap for UOB TMRW Digital Group by overseeing the project portfolio from ideation to delivery to benefit realization. In addition, the incumbent will also work on key strategic projects in the role of Business Project Manager. The incumbent will also support the head to drive other strategic change management initiatives for the group.



  1. Business Project Manager for Strategic projects

In this role, the incumbent will report to the Business Lead of the project and be overall accountable for managing the scope, timeline and resources of business streams of work which include but are not limited to regulatory approvals, 3rd party partnerships, training, establishing target operating models (TOMs) or SOPs, Marketing and manage the dependencies with tech build of the project

  • Identify the business streams of work to be done by working with the business SMEs
  • Establish scope, timelines, ownership, risks and dependencies for each stream of work based on both user needs and a good understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements
  • Track & report progress on each stream
  • Escalate as necessary, especially the dependencies with the tech build


  1. Define and drive strategic roadmap for the group
  • Work with senior leadership and business leads to identify the strategic priorities for the Digital group including the business benefits and effort required to deliver these priorities.
  • Plan out the roadmap to deliver these priorities by identifying the dependencies across the group and bank wide initiatives.
  • Monitor and track these initiatives from ideation to budget approval by securing endorsement at the UOB group level Transformation Committee (TC) and Investment Technology Committee (ITC).
  • Track progress of the project portfolio to highlight risks and dependencies to ensure delivery on scope and timeline.
  • Post roll out of the project, track business benefits delivered by the project to ensure ROI is delivered


  1. Change management
  • Developing talent within the group by working with the business leads to identify the development needs for each employee and developing and rolling out the training, skills upgrade & cross-function rotation programs
  • Contribute to the strategic goal of developing awareness of Agile principles and Ways of Working across all functions and management levels of UOB and continuous assessment of UOB TMRW group’s Agile maturity and implement action plans for its continuous improvement.


  1. Other business ops support
  • Contribute to the preparation of relevant HR, Risk and Financial reports for the group such as Risk Appetite Statement & annual Financial Budget planning

Job Requirements

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar relevant field
  • Work experience of more than 5 years as a Business Analyst / Project Manager with proven track record of managing complex projects with different stakeholders, within budget and timeline
  • A relevant program management qualification (e.g. Agile, PRINCE2, PMI)
  • In-depth knowledge of Agile process and principles
  • Highly analytical, methodical and structured in approach to problem solving
  • Ability to deal efficiently with escalations and difficult situations/people under pressure
  • Ability to communicate at all levels with clarity and precision (verbal & written)
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Attention to details oriented
