About the Department

Corporate Real Estate Services (CRES) encompass a range of services relating to property management across the Bank's global footprint. This include acquiring, maintaining, enhancing and disposing of real estate throughout the lifecycle of a property.


Leveraging our deep expertise in developing and managing a diversified asset base, CRES focus on enhancing the performance of our portfolio and strengthening our customer experience to deliver long-term sustainable value to both internal and external stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of policies and practices to reduce utilities consumption and costs and cut emissions / other environmental impacts & workplace health and safety. 
  • Responsible for other related sustainability agenda from emerging legislation or best practice in corporate social responsibility not limiting to the development of Green leases, procurement and building/capital works practices.
  • Responsible for implementing an environmental data repository at country level and align to Group Corporate Real Estate Services (GCRES) processes to collect, verify, analyse and report on the data.
  • Consolidate and analyse data at Group level submit by respective Country Leads for generation of Annual Sustainability Report.
  • Work with the various Country Sustainability Leads and CRES functions to ensure the operation activities on utilities, paper and waste are managed and directed to meet UOB Group targets. 
  • Responsible for the driving and leading of the GCRES function roadmap to achieve the overall organisation’s sustainability targets.
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of policies, procedures and guidelines on Occupational Health and Safety and Sustainability to improve health and safety performance and reduce environmental impacts.
  • Monitor local legislations, track current and emerging technical and management options for improving environmental, health and safety performances and transposing this into the current context with adequate planning.
  • Communicate directly with country staff to raise awareness of occupational health and safety and sustainability issues. Develop and oversee distribution of guidance and advice to all employees.
  • Function as the Occupational Health and Safety expert within the organization to drive the implementation of applicable programmes to ensure compliance to applicable legislations.
  • Develop, implement and review company safety policy, procedures and programmes to drive continual improvements in health and safety awareness and performance.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to integrate sustainability, health and safety and wellness requirements into the various work processes within the Corporate Real Estate Services function, e.g. construction projects, office and branches fit-outs and facilities management in UOB portfolio.
  • Collaborate with GCRES Sustainability Country Lead and advise country CRES Head on wide range of issues associated with Sustainability and Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Develop partnerships with key external stakeholders to drive collaborations in the area of sustainability and wellness on behalf of the organization.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Energy Management, Sustainability or Engineering related discipline
  • Minimum 10 years of management experience in sustainability including strategic program development and implementation across various countries/localities 
  • Strong data analysis skill and experience, including a mastery of the entire suite of Microsoft Office programs
  • Have the expertise in the areas of environmental management system, waste management, sustainable supply chain, external partnerships, employee engagement, as well as sustainability reporting and CDP reporting.
  • Good communicator with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence multiple cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Independent worker and able to work in a complex and ambiguous environment.
  • A subject matter expert in Occupational Health and Safety with operational experience and knowledge of construction and facilities management of commercial buildings.
  • Possess a sound working knowledge of the BCA Green Mark scheme and other applicable international green buildings and wellness standards
