The Wholesale Bank function operates a dynamic business model that provides financial services and solutions to help our clients achieve their strategic business objectives. Our mission is to become the premier-provider of banking services and solutions for Asia-based commercial banking companies (small medium enterprises), large corporations, financial institutions as well as multinational corporations. Our coverage teams work in full alignment with specialised teams across Transaction Banking, Investment Banking, Global Markets and Group Retail to deliver seamless solutions to our clients.

Job Responsibilities

General  Description

AML Partner for GWB CFS. Assigned to the AML Investigation Team (“the Team”). The team provides advisory and guidance to BU in compliance with the relevant AML/CFT requirements. Primarily, the team conducts investigations/reviews on customers’ transactions to detect any anomalies and provides recommendations on appropriate account strategies / controls to mitigate the identified ML/TF risks.

Advisory

(i)Provide baseline advisory to Business Units (“BU”) on Sanctions-related matters (i.e Iranian elements, Russia, SSI etc).

(ii)Provide baseline advisory to BU on Transaction/Remittance/Trade queries.

(iii)Act as a liaison party between BU and Group Compliance (“GC”) on AML/CFT matters.

(iv)Escalate AML/CFT/Sanction concerns to GC, wherein the concerns are potentially more complex and require a secondary opinion.

(v)Provide advisory support on other segments and response to GC’s queries (i.e. banker’s queries, post transaction queries, etc) 

Review & Control

(i)Perform account/transaction review upon trigger events such as MAS enquiries, GC-triggered reviews, account closure notifications, filing of STRs, adverse news, fraud and Greylist cases, etc.

(ii)Provide recommendations on appropriate account strategies and controls to mitigate potential or identified AML/CFT/Sanctions risks.

(iii)Assist BU to review and file Unusual Activity Reports to GC.

(iv)Put up detailed memos to capture the findings, outcomes and recommendations post completion of investigative reviews performed on clients arising from the above-mentioned trigger events.

Reports

(i)Maintain various registers for tracking the performance of the team.

(ii)Prepare monthly statistics and presentations for updating to Senior Management.
 

Job Requirements

Degree holder in Business/Finance/Accountacy 

1-2 Years of relevant experience
