About the Department

The Technology and Operations function is comprised of five teams of specialists with distinct capabilities: business partnership, technology, operations, risk governance and planning support and services. We work closely together to harness the power of technology to support our physical and digital banking services and operations. This includes developing, centralising and standardising technology systems as well as banking operations in Singapore and overseas branches.

Job Responsibilities

The SWIFT Operations Officer’s (Night Shift) responsibility is to direct incoming SWIFT messages to UOB London, Canada and USA 
In addition, he may be required to do administrative tasks such as sorting, printing, preparing pre-printed letters for mailing or via courier to mail room.

Main Tasks:

  • Access Alliance Messaging Hub (AMH) to SWIFT network (Guidance will be provided to operate)
  • Convert them to PDF files
  • Send them via email to each UOB Western Branches

Secondary Tasks:

  • Sort letters printed from a R2W file
  • Put into envelop machine
  • Check accuracy against check list
  • Buddle to be pick up by inter-office runners to mail room
  • Other administrative tasks - filing documents etc

Job Requirements

  • Able to work alone (rotate two shifts) from 3.30pm to 12 midnight and 12 midnight to 9am next day with another staff
  • Sound knowledge and experience in SWIFT messaging operations will be an advantage
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Willingness to learn and have a positive work attitude
  • Basic Computer knowledge. Able to work onn Microsft word, Excel would be helpful
  • Bilingual is an added advantage (with English as First Language)
  • Minimum GCE “O” Level or Equivalent
  • Relevant experience in banking operations and SWIFT message handling
