About the Department

The Compliance function is a strategic partner and a trusted business enabler to the Board and senior management. It is our responsibility to ensure that the Group continuously fulfils its regulatory obligations in today’s tight and dynamic regulatory landscape. To do that, we work closely with internal stakeholders to identify and to assess regulatory risks. This collaboration also includes developing practical solutions that integrate regulations into operational requirements as well as actively shaping and promoting stronger compliance culture and literacy in the Bank.

Job Responsibilities
  • Comply with UOB group AML policies and local KYC/CDD regulations, to verify material adverse news to make judgment of true hits or false hits for those alerts generated by Detica by systematic logics and global normalization rules.
  • Perform investigation to support WB relationship managers for additional documents collection to identify true hit clients’ business nature according to UOB group AML policies and local KYC/CDD regulations.
  • Trigger periodic review for those WB clients KYC on maturity and re-assess the risk rating based on the updated KYC documents.
  • Ensure on-boarding client KYC & on-going KYC reviewing completeness and timeliness. Well handle the exceptional special cases.
  • 4-eyes control to ensure the alert clearance and KYC/CDD document verification quality.
  • Well understand the UOB group AML policies as well as local KYC/CDD regulations, to ensure the documents maintained in WB AML/KYC/CDD team are valid and effective.
  • Guide relationship managers to collect necessary KYC/CDD documents before the timeline and ensure zero overdue case.
  • Provide regular AML/KYC/CDD training sessions to WB relationship managers, branch operations. An advisory is requested to clarify the queries by branch relationship managers.
  • Have good communication skills to work with Country Compliance, branch relationship managers, branch operations, branch CFS.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor degree above, prefer major in law or finance.
  • More than 5-8 years working experiences, at least 2-year working experiences on AML in financing institution.
  • At least 2-year people management experiences.
  • Well known of AML/KYC/CDD local regulations and familiar with group sanction policies.
  • Good logic sense to judge the true hit alerts against bank AML policies.
  • Good communication skills to take coordination with bank other stakeholders or functions.
  • Good oral & written Mandarin and English.
  • Pressure bearing.
