About the Department

Group Technology and Operations (GTO) provides software and system development, information technology support services and banking operations.

We have centralized and standardized the technology components into Singapore, creating a global footprint which can be utilized for supporting our regional subsidiaries and the branches around the world. We operate and support 19 countries with this architecture to provide a secure and flexible banking infrastructure.

Our Operations divisions provide transactional customer services for our businesses while also focusing on cost efficiency through process improvements, automation and straight through processing.

Job Responsibilities

Lead and manage team daily processing  

  • Provide hands-on management and supervision of the operations process and provide leadership, motivation and guidance to operations team.
  • Work and communicate effectively with other functions e.g. Group Finance, Business Technology Support, Global Markets Front Office and Business Management and the departments within Global Markets Operations to establish best in class operations unit.
  • Support the processing, margin management of Listed Derivatives, settlement of Over-The-Counter (OTC) Commodities Derivatives, Equity Derivatives (both plain vanilla and structured) and Precious Metal.
  • Manage the reporting and queries to/from MAS, Group Finance, Internal and External Auditors and Group Compliance and Global Markets Front Office.
  • Work and communicate effectively with the bank’s counterparties, customers together with the Front Office to ensure that the team maintains professionalism and service quality as a unit.
  • Other tasks as directed by Head of Derivatives Operations.
  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints, and operational issues brought to the team’s attention
  • Proactively support and partner with Global Markets to deliver quality service that exceeds customers’ expectations  

Job Requirements

  • Recognized Degree in any one or a combination of these specializations
  • Banking/ Finance/ Accountancy/ Computing
  • Minimum  10+  years  of  work  experience  in  an  Operations  environment  within  a  financial institution, preferably in OTC derivatives, Listed derivatives and structured products.
  • Candidates  are  required  to  be  proficient  in  Microsoft  office  applications  (Excel,  Word).
  • Preference  will  be  given  to  candidates  with  advanced  computing  skills  (VBA,  SQL)  and experience in automating processes, and handling and analyzing large and complex amount of data.
  • Possess strong communication and analytical skills
  • Highly driven and able to work under pressure
