About the Department

The Corporate Sustainability Office oversees and drives UOB’s sustainability strategy and roadmap, aligned to the Bank’s vision and embedded in the business strategy. It ensures that the sustainability strategy pillars and objectives are operationalised and implemented through actionable and measurable plans and initiatives by functions across the Group.

Job Responsibilities

The Corporate Sustainability team’s responsibilities include:

  • collaborating with corporate functions on the development and implementation of relevant sustainability frameworks, policies, procedures and initiatives to drive the achievement of corporate sustainability targets, including operational decarbonisation;
  • driving employee training programmes to deepen awareness and understanding of sustainability across the Group;
  • collaborating with and providing counsel to business and corporate functions on the positioning and articulation of sustainability strategies and programmes for reporting and disclosures;
  • working closely within the Corporate Sustainability Office team to develop content that establishes UOB as an industry and thought leader in sustainability among internal and external stakeholders;
  • driving stakeholder awareness and engagement campaigns across mediums (e.g. media publications, website, intranet, social media and events) and tools (e.g. opinion editorials, interviews, advertorials and infographics); and
  • overseeing business management for Corporate Sustainability Office, including acting as Group Sustainability Committee (GSC) Secretariat.

 

The main responsibilities of this role will include: 

  • building, nurturing and deepening relationships with internal stakeholders to create and ensure successful collaborations in delivering to UOB’s sustainability agenda;
  • providing advisory to internal stakeholders as a sustainability subject-matter expert, and supporting them in operationalisation, reporting and disclosures; 
  • identifying sustainability topics and driving relevant internal broad-based training programmes to deepen employee competencies;
  • developing awareness and engagement campaigns to champion UOB’s sustainability commitment and efforts among employees, customers and the community;
  • leading sustainability thought leadership campaigns on internal, external and social mediums to reinforce UOB’s industry and thought leadership; and
  • supporting business management for Corporate Sustainability Office.

Job Requirements

  • Recognised university degree with 8 to 12 years of relevant experience in corporate sustainability, organisational change management, consulting and/or integrated communications and engagement;
  • Keen interest in and understanding of global, regional and local sustainability trends, standards and best practices;
  • Strong work ethic and a strategic thinker with strong project management, analytical, problem-solving and interpersonal skills;
  • Independent self-starter with keen eye for detail and passion for accuracy;
  • Resourceful team player who can work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders to achieve common goals; and
  • Strong communications and writing skills with the ability to interpret and translate strategic concepts into concise and meaningful narratives.
