The Wholesale Bank function operates a dynamic business model that provides financial services and solutions to help our clients achieve their strategic business objectives. Our mission is to become the premier-provider of banking services and solutions for Asia-based commercial banking companies (small medium enterprises), large corporations, financial institutions as well as multinational corporations. Our coverage teams work in full alignment with specialised teams across Transaction Banking, Investment Banking, Global Markets and Group Retail to deliver seamless solutions to our clients.

Job Responsibilities

As team lead of Business Support team, you will be working with various senior business stakeholders to provide support and assistance in managing day-to-day business activity and enhance business performance. In addition, you will also be required to manage business initiatives for GWB.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead central business management team and work with various segment business managers on business planning, assurance, audit, compliance, Academy, real estate, and other ad-hoc assignments
  • Support Head of Business Support and Shared Services in managing overall GWB level business management activities / tasks
  • Facilitate and coordinate request for information for strategic planning and management reporting
  • Facilitate and coordinate with various functions in maintaining BCP and BIA Plan
  • Responsible for business management activities for STCF
  • Responsible for managing GWB CAPEX, demand management (for non-GTB related items)
  • Coordinate with support and operations functions to resolve operational issues
  • Ensure good governance, manage issues, and follow through to closure
  • Support and manage internal and external audit requests
  • Ensure timely submission of the monthly KORI reporting
  • Support any business initiatives / projects assigned
  • Develop team members in providing effective support to businesses

Job Requirements

  • At least 13 years of banking experience, preferably in front office business support / business management roles
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree
  • Strong leadership and communication skill
  • Strong analytical and creative, structured problem solving skill
  • Strong experience of working across geographies and cross-functional teams
  • Able to multiple tasks, manage across multiple initiatives and interface with various levels of management in UOB
  • Able and willing to adapt in a dynamic environment
