About the Department
UOB GWB Project Management Office (PMO) is the central Group Wholesale Bank (GWB) function that plans, manages, and implements GWB transformative initiatives. We collaborate and work with all GWB Business Functions and enterprise-wide functions to deliver these initiatives.
GWB PMO is managed under GWB Chief Operating Officer, GWB Business Management and support, covering all GWB businesses, products and markets globally. The team works with senior stakeholders across the Bank offering project management support, operational excellence as well as overall GWB business strategy implementation
Job Responsibilities
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented project manager to be part of the GWB Regional Project Management Office. The projects vary from transformative initiatives in the regions, productivity initiatives to risk and compliance initiatives.
Primary responsibility will be driving project activities from planning to executions. These activities aim to drive strong organizational collaboration, executable strategy/ solutions between various functions in GWB and the Bank globally. You will work closely with senior project managers , cross functional teams and stakeholders to ensure project goals are met.
The individual will be responsible for the full Project Lifecycle core activities such as
- Support the development planning and execution of key project phases: discovery, design and implementation
- Monitor and track project progress
- Project issues identification, discussion and resolution at the project working groups and escalation to management, where appropriate
- Prepare project documentations and presentations
- Co-creating with product owners, in terms of formulating and driving outcomes of business analysis, operating model and problem solving for the respective projects & representing the team in certain discussions
- Ongoing project management and execution for key strategic initiatives by working closely with other GWB functions such as Coverage, Products along with Group HR, Compliance, Tech & Ops, Finance, Risk across all UOB markets
Job Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in consulting, banking or other financial institutions with experiences in project management or banking process or consulting
- Strong project management capabilities, with the ability to manage both our internal teams and coordinate with our client partners
- Good understanding of project management frameworks
- Ability to distill complex problems into clear, concise summaries, while formulating action plans to resolve these problems
- Effectively articulate any risks/ issues and implications that may arise from a project, and provide well-reasoned recommendations with actionable options
- Strong relationship skills: Ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively with stakeholders across all levels of an organization
- Self-driven achiever with ability to work effectively
- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities
- Flexibility and proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues
- Excellent analytical skills both in terms of logic of reasoning and analysis of numerical and financial data
- Demonstrated value for diversity, excellence and integrity in all that is done
- Working knowledge of Excel (business analysis), MS PowerPoint (slide writing)
