Job Responsibilities
This is a specialist role within UOB’s Group Business Continuity Management function. Reporting to the Group Business Continuity Management Head, you will support and facilitate the implementation of the business continuity programme across the Banking Group, enhancing operational resilience and ensuring continuity of essential business operations and services in the event of a crisis.
The incumbent is expected to work closely with various stakeholders in the Bank and deliver on the programme activities, including direct ownership of selected business and support unit functions.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Manage implementation of end-to-end business continuity programme for the Group.
- Conduct risk assessment, business impact analysis, business continuity planning and crisis management planning.
- Validate plans via coordination and execution of business continuity-related tests and exercises.
- Strengthen BCM awareness at all levels by delivering training and awareness workshops.
- Align Group-wide BCM practices, enhance BCM readiness of overseas subsidiaries and overseas branches.
- Integrate industry and regulatory BCM best practices and enhance resilience for the Group.
- Manage and maintain BCM online system and tools.
- Support operational readiness of recovery facilities, command centres and resources.
- Support crisis invocation and coordinate implementation of recovery resources as appropriate.
- Maintain compliance towards Bank and regulatory BCM policies and guidelines.
- Support and manage controls testing and audit requests.
Job Requirements
- Recognized university degree.
- Working experience in the finance sector and demonstrated involvement in Business Continuity and Resilience, and Crisis Management of at least 5 years.
- Sound comprehension of banking products and services.
- Experience in system requirement design and implementation.
- Familiar with BCM regulatory requirements, particularly Singapore.
- Experience with external audit and risk governance is preferred.
- Professionally accredited BCM practitioner (e.g. BCI, DRI) is an advantage.
- Project management and exposure to banking technology would be a bonus.
- Takes ownership, demonstrates broader and strategic thinking.
- Self-starter and leads with minimal or no supervision.
- Mature, confident and assertive.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Analytical, resourceful, creative and self-driven.
- Enjoys working in a team but also comfortable in being a solo contributor.
