About the Department

The Group Technology and Operations (T&O) Risk Governance & Assurance (TOGA) function, as a first line of defense, works closely with T&O leadership to identify, assess, mitigate and manage risks and ensure the existence of appropriate controls. This team works across the T&O functions across the Group to ensure transparency and understanding of operating issues, risks and opportunities, including the sound risk governance and risk oversight of T&O activities. Also, the function monitors the industry, market and regulatory developments to anticipate changes and help ensure appropriate alignment of banking operations and technology risk management strategies and policies with potential impact assessment. Additionally, the team conducts independent assurance reviews across the T&O functions across the Group to ensure that key controls are adequately designed and are operating effectively.

Job Responsibilities

An opportunity for a highly motivated and detail-oriented data analytics specialist to support Group Technology & Operations, Risk Governance and Assurance (TOGA) function. This role is critical in enhancing our risk analytics capabilities and our regulatory compliance, you will support assurance reviews  and risk mitigation through enabling data-driven decision-making across the Group’s technology and operational risk landscape. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in data management, risk reporting, and regulatory frameworks relevant to financial institutions.

 

  • Develop and maintain data models, dashboards, and analytics use cases that help to support assurance reviews and risk monitoring.
  • Contribute to the automation of assurance testing processes that enhance review coverage, accuracy, and productivity.
  • Support the integration of structured and unstructured data sources (e.g., audit logs, system metrics, incident reports) into centralized analytics platforms.
  • Apply statistical tools/models to perform advanced data analytics, to identify and derive key insights from risk related datasets.
  • Uphold the highest standards of data quality and integrity by performing data cleansing, validation, and transformation.
  • Maintain documentation of data sources, methodologies, and processes to ensure transparency and reproducibility.
  • Champion the use of Data Analytics and partner with regional counterparts on DA initiatives that support risk/assurance programs.
  • Keep abreast of the latest cutting-edge developments in data science and advanced analytics and recommend adoption of best practices.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in data analytics / Data science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Master’s degree is a strong plus.
  • Domain knowledge – experience in banking &/or technology processes, highly desirable.
  • 8+ years’ experience in data analytics, preferably within financial services, technology risk, internal audit and compliance.
  • Good understanding in business application architecture, ability to
  • Strong in data transformation and visualization techniques.
  • Knowledge of a variety of predictive models, machine learning / artificial intelligence algorithms and statistical techniques, e.g. logistic regression, clustering etc.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Programming Languages: Python/ R, SQL, SAS
    • Big Data Platforms: Cloudera, Hadoop, Hive, Spark
    • Visualization Tools: Qlik, Power BI.
    • Process automation, RPA preferable
  • Relevant understanding of data governance practices, including data lineage, quality, and stewardship.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical findings into business insights to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an analytical mind-set who can translate business problems and requirements into analytical solutions.
  • The capability to dive deep into data to find answers to yet unknown questions with the natural ability to go beneath the surface of a problem.
  • An inquisitive line of questioning, you possess the skills to build solutions to find meaningful answers.
  • Self-motivated and driven, with the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. You engage well and inspire others to transition to a more data-driven and automated analytics solution.
