About the Department

The Compliance function is a strategic partner and a trusted business enabler to the Board and senior management. It is our responsibility to ensure that the Group continuously fulfils its regulatory obligations in today’s tight and dynamic regulatory landscape. To do that, we work closely with internal stakeholders to identify and to assess regulatory risks. This collaboration also includes developing practical solutions that integrate regulations into operational requirements as well as actively shaping and promoting stronger compliance culture and literacy in the Bank.

Job Responsibilities

  • Execute Compliance Reviews, as assigned by the Team Manager, according to the established approved framework, methodology and standards to deliver consistent and quality issue/ reports, to enhance the bank’s compliance control standards.
  • Complete assigned Compliance Reviews on time, which include discussion of identified issues with Units under review, jointly with the Team Lead and/or Team Manager; draft Management Corrective Action Plans (MCAP) based on review observations; submit MCAPs and work papers for Team Lead’s review.
  • Write concisely and report timely the observations/ results of the Compliance Reviews.
  • Follow up and validate in-scope outstanding issues identified from the Compliance Reviews and/or by Internal/ External Auditors and/or Regulators.  Prepare adequate documentation to support any issue closure for audit trail, and management reporting purpose.
  • Assist in administering the annual rollout of AML/ CFT Control Self-Assessment for the Group, including collation of the results for reporting to senior management.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance Reviews, with the objective to enhance the compliance review standards of overseas banking entities and conduct trainings where appropriate, as well as special reviews or overseas assignments and any ad-hoc projects, as and when assigned by Team Manager/ Group Compliance Management.
  • Participate in the Team and Sector’s strategic or transformation projects and initiatives, as and when assigned by Team Manager/ Group Compliance Management.

Job Requirements

  • Has a recognised Bachelor degree or its equivalent

  • Has good knowledge on AML/ CFT/ Sanctions, with a professional AML-related certification being an advantage

  • Has minimum 4 to 8 years of relevant work experience, preferably in audit

  • Has good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Possess good analytical, report-writing and problem-solving skills

  • Able to work on multiple assignments and manage deliverables within timelines
