About the Department

The Technology and Operations function is comprised of five teams of specialists with distinct capabilities: business partnership, technology, operations, risk governance and planning support and services. We work closely together to harness the power of technology to support our physical and digital banking services and operations. This includes developing, centralising and standardising technology systems as well as banking operations in Singapore and overseas branches.

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced IT Senior Business Analyst to join our exciting team focusing on retail and digital banking. You will be lead a capability domain of Banking and Servicing and your key contribution is to lead the analysis and design aspects of software development, as well as contribute to development and testing activities.

Requirements analysis and elicitation

  • Support Product Owners to ensure features and stories to be delivered are well defined and structured
  • Support Product Owners to collaborate with stakeholders to define target operating model for key processes
  • Lead analysis tasks which contribute to increment and delivery of working software 
  • Contribute to analysis, development, build and testing of working software 
  • Analyse and define detailed functional specifications and non-functional requirements based on business requirements

Team Collaboration

  • Transition functional and non-functional requirements to system analysts, and ensure a clear and complete understanding of the requirements
  • Facilitate "Train the Trainer" for end-users on application enhancements
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge base related to application features and processes (subject matter expertise)
  • Collaborate with other teams to communicate and accept dependencies
  • Participate enthusiastically and effectively in agile ceremonies
  • Commit to increasing other team members’ analysis skills and experiences

Testing and Scope Management

  • Work with Test Manager to translate business requirements into test scenarios
  • Clarify test findings escalated by Test Manager and classify the findings accordingly (either as a defect or change request)
  • Perform impact assessment and estimation for project Change Request
  • Monitor and manage risks /issues related to requirements and scope creep
  • Write business functional release notes and contribute to deployment plan

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Business/ Finance or equivalent
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant banking and/or consulting experience
  • Experience in leading a team, beyond individual contributor
  • High level of technical skill in use of business analysis techniques, methodologies and artefacts to support agile software development
  • Experience in large-size and complex program/project for retail/digital banking as Lead Business Analyst 
  • Strong business domain knowledge in retail and digital banking
  • Experience in large-size and complex program/project for retail/digital banking as Lead Business Analyst 
  • Experience with Waterfall, Agile and hybrid change management methodologies
  • Experience in scoping and evaluation – Defining overall considerations, including scalability, maintainability, cost, operations and technology principal risk to provide a recommendation
  • Familiar with change management processes and project management fundamentals
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, problem solving and process design skills that can translate analysis into solutions that meet business objectives
  • Use strategic, forward-thinking approach to challenges with outstanding communications, influencing, negotiating and persuasion skills
  • Passionate, diligent and resilient individual with ability to thrive in ambiguity
  • Enthusiastic in mastering and improving best practice in business analysis
